TRISH TOLEDO made her first 2024 Phoenix appearance on her current round of shows around the U.S. on Thursday, July 25 at The Marquee Theatre in Tempe. With Arizona talent in tow for Arizonans in the likes of SAREENA DOMINGUEZ and EARTH SURFACE PEOPLE, it was a smooth and groovin’ night.

Starting off the evening was Sareena Dominguez with a comfortable hometown type of feel, the synthy/pop sounds from the band was definitely a hit with the crowd. It was a great lead into Earth Surface People, a Native American-based group with R&B and alternative sounds that resonated with everyone in attendance.

When it came to the main event, Toledo did not disappoint and the crowd made sure to let everyone within five blocks know that a great show was about to take place. With the concertgoers giving the mic'd up band on stage a marathon run for their money, the oldie style hits started flowing throughout the venue. With extended vibrato sequences and vocal flourishes, Trish made sure to spice up each song with a live flair.

While working the crowd, at one point Toledo made her way into the photo pit and began singing while taking selfies with fans in the front row, one of which handed her a painting which she brought back onto the stage. Upon mentioning “I need a sharpie, I’m gonna sign this,” the crowd lost their collective minds and began throwing sneakers, hats, and even some of their own drawers up on stage in hopes of getting their articles signed as well. One individual even tossed his phone on stage with Toledo stating “you cracked your screen!” and “let’s go through his messages” before taking a video during her next song.

During a vocal break, Toledo exited the stage while the guitarists handled a duet of “Ooo Baby Baby," which concluded with a return by the headliner for the final section of the song and led into the rest of their set. Now with fans receiving selfies in the front row, videos from up on stage, and signed personal items, one fan was determined to take it a step further and had Toledo sign her arm, which the fan had tattooed the next day, and Toledo shared the reels on Instagram. For those that wanted more items as a memory of their experience that night, they rushed the merchandise table and had it quickly sold out within minutes of the show’s conclusion.
